Master of Education M. Ed. Cohort Programs

ASU Arizona, in partnership with select Valley school districts, offers the Master of Education (M. Ed. ) in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in specific concentration areas at the school district's site. This program is designed to meet the needs of working teachers. The 30 credit hour program allows graduate students to complete 3-6 credit hours a semester by completing courses offered one night a week for nine weeks. (One Saturday meeting per class is also required. ) Most classes begin at 4:30PM and end at 8:30PM, although times may vary by cohort. The program allows the working professional to complete an M. Ed. in 2 years or less. Many of the off-campus cohorts are on a continuous cycle, meaning a student can begin the program in any semester, during the first or second quarter.

Not only can an M. Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction be obtained through the off-campus cohort program, but the requirements for several endorsements are embedded within many of them. Our cohorts meet many of the requirements for the English as a Second Language Endorsement, Bilingual Endorsement K-8, Reading Specialist Endorsement, Gifted Education Endorsement, and the Early Childhood Endorsement. Endorsements vary by cohort. For more information on endorsement requirements see: State Department of Education Endorsement Listings
