It was initially known as the White River Vocational Technical School which was merged with the Arkansas State University-Beebe in 1991. A year later, it became the ASU-Beebe/Newport which was later named Arkansas State University-Newport. It is located in Newport, Arkansas. Arkansas State University-Newport offers two-year associate's degrees in arts, science, and applied science.
