Study at Biola University


Biola University is a private, co-educational, Evangelical Christian university located in La Mirada, California, United States of America. It is noted for its conservative theology. It was established on February 25, 1908 as Bible Institute of Los Angeles by Lyman Stewart, co-owner of the Union Oil Company of California and T. C. Horton, a well-known minister and Christian author. It was renamed as Biola College in 1949. On July 1, 1981, Biola COllege was raised to University status and was finally named Biola University. Biola's sports teams are known as the Eagles. Biola fields men's teams in baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, swimming, tennis and track and field. Women participate in basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track and field and volleyball.
