Study at Okaloosa Walton College


Okaloosa-Walton College was founded in 1963 as Okaloosa-Walton Junior College. The name was changed to Okaloosa-Walton Community College in 1988 and became Okaloosa-Walton College in 2003. In June 2008, the name of the college was changed to Northwest Florida State College. The main campus of the college covers more than 260 acres in Valparaiso, Florida.

NWFSC is divided into several academic units. Some of the divisions are the department of computer engineering, humanities, business management, social science, mathematics and nursing and allied health. The college also offers scholarship programs such as the Fine and Performing Arts Scholarships, Athletic Scholarships, Presidential Honors Scholarships, Minority Honors Scholarships, and many more.

Some of the most famous alumni of NWFSC are Ray Sansom, the current Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives; Donell Taylo, former NBA player; and Jason Michael, current Major League Baseball left-fielder.
