Study at Clayton State University


Clayton State University, also referred to as CSU, is a coeducational, public university located in Morrow, Georgia, United States. It was founded in 1969 as Clayton Junior College. In 1986, it became a four-year institution and was renamed to Clayton State College. In 1996, the name was changed to Clayton College and State University. This confusing name, which did not convey whether the Institution was a college or university, was dropped in 2005. The name was then changed to Clayton State University, recognizing the rights of the Institution to grant master degrees.

The University's sports teams are called the Lakers. The official mascot is called "Lakers". Students participate in basketball, soccer, golf, tennis, track and field, and cross country. The University also has a cheerleading squad.

Half of math SAT scores of accepted students fell between 440 and 530. Since a large share of students are from out-of-state, you can assume the school has broad appeal.
