Study at Honolulu Community College


Honolulu Community College, also known as HCC, was established in 1920 as the Territorial Trade School in Palama. It was renamed the Honolulu Technical School in 1955, and after being granted college status, it was christened the Honolulu Community College in 1966. This public, co-educational, commuter college is located on the outskirts of downtown Honolulu, near the Honolulu Harbor.

Honolulu Community College is a branch of the University of Hawaii system and offers Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, Associate in Applied Science, and Associate in Technical Studies degrees, as well as certificate courses in various fields of study. Among its well known programs are the automotive and aircraft maintenance programs.

The main campus of HCC sits on 20 acres in the Kalihi-Palama area. Classes for the Aeronautics Maintenance and Commercial Aviation programs are offered near the Honolulu International Airport. Additional sites are located in Kokea Street, and at the Marine Education and Training Center at Sand Island.
