Study at National CollegeProfile of National College Founded in 1886 in Roanoke, Virginia when it was known as National Business College, National College enjoyed a reputation during the first three-quarters of the 20th century as a regional leader in private career education. A period of growth followed, which saw the addition of seven additional campus locations in Virginia during the last quarter of the century. Expansion continued in the 1990s with the school's consolidation with the Kentucky College of Business, resulting in six more campuses. Fugazzi College also became a part of the family during this time, and subsequent additions to the National chain included a campus in Knoxville, Tennessee in 2003 and Dayton and Cincinnati, Ohio in 2004. Course Topics National College offers a wide variety of degree and non-degree programs. Associate degree programs feature courses that would normally be offered only in upper-level degree programs at other institutions, and include fields in the business, healthcare, and technology areas. A total of 14 Associate degree programs are offered. The five baccalaureate programs focus on accounting and management and build on the Associate degree programs. The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program prepares Bachelor degree holders to undertake and gain graduate level training and expertise in numerous areas of management. National also offers 19 diploma programs which prepare students for careers in fields such as accounting, computer technology, and healthcare. Diploma programs can be completed in just nine months to a year. Associate's degree programs take about two years, and Bachelor's degree programs build on the Associate's degree and may require another two years to complete. The MBA may be completed in as little as 18 months. National College Admissions The first step for prospective applicants is meeting National's admissions staff. The College recommends that applicants and their families visit the campus they are considering attending in order to acquaint themselves with college personnel and facilities in person. Those who cannot visit the campus are urged to call the Admissions Department for a telephone interview or request that an Admissions Representative contact the student's high school guidance counselor to arrange an interview at the high school. The second step is for the applicant to complete an Application for Admission, which can be submitted online or mailed in. The application will be reviewed promptly and a determination made as soon as possible. Early application is strongly encouraged. National College Faculty Quality National College boasts a dedicated faculty, many of whose members hold Master's degrees or equivalent professional preparation. All instructors possess plenty of practical experience in their field and are career professionals who give their students the real-world knowledge and skills needed to succeed. National College Student Enrolment National College students are highly motivated to acquire those essential professional skills that will lead toward employment in a specific field.
