Study at Georgetown College


Georgetown College, or GC, traces its roots to the Rittenhouse Academy that was established in 1798. In 1829, the Kentucky Baptist Education Society was chartered, and this led to the setting up of the Georgetown College on the 52-acre campus of the school. It was the first Baptist higher education institute located in Georgetown, Kentucky. GC's recent Enrolments have been more than 1, 500 students every year.

Students of Georgetown College are offered more than 70 majors, minors, and academic programs to choose from. Apart from several undergraduate degrees, the college also confers the Master of Arts in Education degree. Students can opt for courses in the fields of art, biology, business administration and economics, chemistry, communication and media studies, education, English, mathematics, physics and computer science, music, religion, and sociology.

The athletics department of GC fields men's and women's teams in baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, track, and volleyball. Nicknamed the Tigers, the teams compete in the NAIA and the Mid-South Conference. The football team of the college has won a number of national championships.
