The nail technology course (600 hours) is designed to prepare the student to take the state board exam for nail technician, and trains students for gainful employment as a nail technician. The apprentice instructor course is (1000 hour) course to enable cosmetology graduates to obtain a cosmetology instructor's license. Students need to have been practicing cosmetologist for a period of 1 year and be a high school graduate, in addition to holding a cosmetologist license. The course prepares the the students to be a cosmetology instructor, and instills teaching skills and techniques to accomplish that goal.
