Central Maine Community College, also known as CMCC, was established in 1963. The college was known as androscoggin State Vocational Institute and changed to its present name in the year 2003. It is a two-year public college and located in Auburn, Maine. The campus is spread across an area of more than 130 acres. CMCC is one among the seven colleges of the Maine Community College System. The college has over 24 programs of study and more than 10 areas of specialization. Online courses are also provided.

CMCC's athletics department sponsors a number of sports teams. The college teams participate in a wide variety of sports including basketball, softball, baseball, and soccer among others. Their athletic teams are nicknamed as the Mustangs.
