Study at University of Maine

University of Maine, also referred to as UMaine, is a public coeducational research university located in Orono, Maine. The institution was established in 1862. Currently, it grants admission to over 10, 000 students every year. The school offers various majors in the fields of family and social work and conservation and resource management.

The university's sports teams are fondly called the Black Bears. “Banana the Bear” is the official mascot of the school teams. University of Maine's athletics department fields teams in football, ice hockey, and various other sports.

University of Maine boasts of a distinguished alumni. Famous horror fiction writers Stephen King and his wife Tabitha King are both ex-students of UMaine. John Henry Williams, the only son of baseball legend Ted Williams, also attended this school.
