Massachusetts College of Art and Design, popularly referred to as MassArt, was established in 1873. It is a public institution and is located in Boston, Massachusetts. It was the first college of arts in the United States to grant a degree in the subject. MassArt awards bachelor's and master's degrees in the fields of fine arts, science, and architecture, among others. Several pre-college programs for high school students as well as continuing education programs are also offered by the institution.

Massachusetts College of Art and Design has a co-ed basketball team named the Masstadons. There are several other varsity sports teams that participate in cross country, basketball, tennis, and softball.
