Study at Tufts University


Founded in 1852, Tufts University consistently ranks in the top 30 colleges overall in U. S. News and World Report and in the top 15 in admissions selectivity.

Tufts is composed of eight schools including professional schools in medicine, dental medicine and veterinary medicine. Tufts'Fletcher School is one of most prestigious schools for International Affairs.

Famous alumni include New Mexico governor Bill Richardson, late senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, Oscar-winning actor William Hurt and eBay founder Pierre Omidyar.

Situated in Medford, MA, Tufts is located a short walk from Davis Square in Somerville and about three miles from Harvard Square in Cambridge and about four miles from downtown Boston.

The school's sports teams are known as the Jumbos named after the famous elephant from Barnum and Bailey's circus. P. T. Barnum was a Tufts benefactor in the late 19th century.
