Profile of Cornerstone University
Cornerstone University is a non-denominational Christian university located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Founded in 1941 as the Baptist Bible Institute of Grand Rapids, the University started out as an evening school with about 200 students enrolled. Over the years, the institute continued to grow and eventually developed into a day and evening school and later a 4-year Bible college and seminary. In 1972, the school was approved by the State of Michigan as a degree-granting college of arts and sciences, and in 1977 was granted accreditation by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. In 1993, the institution merged with the Grand Rapids School of Bible and Music. The University today, situated on 119 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, has a total Enrolment of more than 2,700 and offers a wide array of graduate and undergraduate degree programs.

The application process can be started online, where the applicant will be asked to create an account with username and password and complete an online application. A recommendation from a pastor or Christian leader should be provided to the University, along with ACT or SAT scores and an official high school transcript. If applicable, transcripts from all colleges previously attended should also be forwarded to Cornerstone.
Cornerstone University Faculty Quality
All faculty members are required to have an active Christian commitment and a theology that supports the values and mission of the University; a Master's or Doctoral degree from a regionally accredited college/university; at least five years prior work experience related to the subject the faculty member teaches; and (for instructors in the education programs) K-12 teaching/administrative experience.

Cornerstone has a total Enrolment of over 2,700 students. Females slightly outnumber males by a roughly 60:40 ratio. Minorities comprise about 20% of the student population.
Cornerstone University Student Life
Grand Rapids is a university city, and as such, offers a wealth of part-time jobs and internships, as well as churches and organizations for students to get involved with throughout their college experience. In addition, Cornerstone itself offers its students a wide variety of activities and organizations. The student newspaper, known as the Herald, is published weekly and celebrated its 40-year anniversary in 2006. The University also has an active athletics program. Known as the Golden Eagles, its teams compete in the NAIA and belong to the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference. The Bernice Hansen Athletic Center, completed in the 2001, has 125,000 square feet of space which houses the Mol Arena for Golden Eagle athletic events and concerts; as well as classrooms, a fitness center, aerobics room, gym, racquetball courts, jogging track, conference room, and office space.
