Study at Macalester College

Macalester College traces its beginnings to two schools set up by Rev. Dr. Edward Duffield Neill in the mid 1800s. The charter for the college was granted in 1874. It became a coeducational institute in 1893. Macalester College now sits on a 53-acres campus in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Macalester College's recent Enrolments have been over 1, 900 students, including 11% international students.

Macalester College offers a wide variety of degree programs. Courses are available in the fields of art, biology, chemistry, economics, geology, human rights, music, physics and astronomy, urban studies, and gender and sexuality studies, among others.

The Macalester College's sports teams are nicknamed the Scots. They are members of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and participate in baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, swimming and diving, tennis, track and field, softball, water polo, and volleyball.
