Truman State University is a public, co-educational, liberal arts and sciences university located in Kirksville, Missouri. It was established in 1867 as the North Missouri Normal and Commercial School.

The sports teams of Truman State University are known as the Bulldogs. The mascot of the university is Spike the Bulldog.
