Butler Community College's colors are purple and gold, and the mascot is a grizzly bear. The college boasts of basketball, volleyball, soccer, baseball, softball, football and track and field teams; and also has a spirit squad. The home team is called The Grizzlies. Butler Community College has won over 8 NJCAA national championships and national titles in men and women's cross country and men's basketball. Well known alumni of the college includes basketball player Stephen Jackson, Cara Gorges, 2nd Runner-up Miss USA and Zac Taylor, former record-setting Nebraska Cornhuskers quarterback.
