In 1928, the college was moved to the present location and was incorporated under the name of Hartwick College. Both of the 425-acre academic campus and the 920-acre environmental campus of Hartwick College stand on land donated by the state of Oneonta. The college offers a large number of courses, which are primarily focused on science and liberal arts.The athletics teams of Hartwick College are known as the Hawks. The official mascot of the college is a blue hawk.
