Study at Marymount Manhattan College

Marymount Manhattan College, or MMC, was established as a women’s college in 1936. Originally an extension of Marymount College, Tarrytown, MMC was founded by the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary. It moved to its present location in Upper East Side of Manhattan in 1948. This private coeducational liberal arts institute MMC s recent enrolments have been more than 2,000 students.

Students of Marymount Manhattan College can choose from over 15 majors and more than 30 minors. MMC s is divided into the following academic divisions:

  • Division of Accounting and Business Management
  • Division of Fine and Performing Arts
  • Division of Humanities
  • Division of Social Sciences
  • Division of the Sciences


MMC sponsors a large number of clubs and organizations. Among them include the Alpha Chi Honor Society, Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society, Lambda Pi Eta Honor Society, Black and Latino Student Association Marymount Literary Society, Mock Trial Club, and Musical Theatre Association. The campus newspaper published by the students is called “The Monitor”.
