The State University of New York (SUNY) at Albany, commonly known
as the University at Albany, is a public university located in the capital of
New York State. It is the senior campus of the State University of New York
system. It was founded in 1844. SUNY at Albany consists of three campuses which
are the Uptown and Downtown campuses in the city of Albany and one campus in
East Greenbush, just east of Albany. It offers more than 180 undergraduate,
masters, and doctoral degree programs through the following academic divisions:
