SUNY College at Plattsburgh is a four-year, public liberal arts college located in Plattsburgh, New York. It was established in 1889 and opened in 1890. The college is a part of the State University of New York system, and is a member of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities. The college enrolls more than 6,000 students every semester. SUNY College at Plattsburgh offers more than 50 bachelors degrees and a wide variety of minors.

Plattsburgh State competes in more than 15 different intercollegiate sports at the Division III level of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. The sports teams also participate within the State University of New York Athletic Conference(SUNYAC). They are nicknamed the Cardinals.
