North Dakota State University - Main Campus is a public university situated in Fargo, North Dakota. It was founded in 1890 and is recognized as the leading university in North Dakota. The main campus is set on nearly 258 acres of land, and has over 100 major buildings. The university is popular for its dietetics program.

The athletics teams of the university are nicknamed the Bisons. The university has baseball, basketball, golf, cross country, track and field, football and wrestling teams. Annette Olson, Miss North Dakota 2006; Milton R. Young, former U. S. Senator; Earl Mindell, writer and nutritionist; Ravindra Khattree, academic statistician; and Craig Dahl, NFL player, are among the notable alumni of this university.
