It was established in 1947 as the Oregon Vocational School. After a few name and status changes, it was finally renamed Oregon Institute of Technology in 1973. Oregon Tech is part of the Oregon University System. In addition to the main campus, the college also operates a satellite campus in Portland, Oregon, and a branch location in Seattle, Washington. OIT offers several undergraduate and graduate degrees in technical and health related areas.
