Study at Gannon University


Gannon University is located in Erie, Pennsylvania, United States, and was established in the year 1933. It gained university status in 1979. The university enrolls more than 4, 000 students on an annual basis. It offers degrees and certificate programs in the areas of health, science, and engineering. There are several degree-granting colleges under the university, namely:

The athletic teams of Gannon University are nicknamed the Golden Knights. The men participate in baseball, basketball, soccer, golf, and wrestling. The women participate in cross country, basketball, golf, softball, and volleyball. The alumni of Gannon University includes eminent figures such as Steve Grilli, former Major League baseball player; John Hornaman, member of the Pennsylvania House of representatives; and Thomas J. Gamble, president of Mercyhurst College.

Gannon does not have an open admissions system. Not everyone who applies is accepted. Only 25% of students scored 460 or lower in 2007 on the verbal SAT test. Math SAT scores at the school centered around 470 to 590, but ranged both higher and lower.
