Study at School of Visual Arts

School of Visual Arts, also referred to as SVA, is among the top independent colleges of art and design in the United States. It is located in Manhattan, New York City, and was established in the year 1947 by Burne Hogarth and Silas H. Rhodes. The original name of the college was Cartoonists and Illustrators School. It was rechristened the School of Visual Arts in the year 1956. Students are offered degrees in art programs including advertising, animation, fine arts, graphic design, and digital photography. SVA is a member unit of the Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design (AICAD).
