Study at Rochester Community and Technical College

Rochester Community and Technical College, also referred to as RCTC, is a coeducational, community college located in Rochester, Minnesota, United States. It is the oldest community college in Minnesota. RCTC was established in 1915 under the name University Department of Southern University. In 1917, the college's name was changed to Rochester Junior College. In 1973, the name changed again to Rochester Community College. From 1987 to 1991, the college's name changed three more times from Rochester Technical Institute to Rochester Technical College to Minnesota Riverland Technical College. The last name was given after the college merged with Austin and Faribault Technical College. In September 1996, the college was finally christened as RCTC.
