Study at Texas A and M University At Galveston


The Texas A and M University at Galveston, also referred to as TAMUG, was established in 1962. The Galveston Marine Laboratory and the Texas Maritime Academy merged to form the TAMUG. The university offers a combination of maritime and marine courses to the students. Undergraduate degrees in marine sciences, marine biology, marine engineering technology, maritime administration, and ocean and coastal resources are offered to the students. Master degrees in marine resources management are also available. The students of Texas A and M University at Galveston participate in various activities including sailing. The university sponsors the Varsity Sailing Team, the offshore Sailing Team, and the Agie Crew. Also, students are also involved in other sports icluding tennis, volleyball, basketball, and baseball. The teams are members of the NCAA, and the Big 12 Conference.
