UTPB's athletics department supports several men's and women's sports teams. The college became a NAIA member after participating in the Red River Athletic Conference in 1995. UTPB's sports teams also compete in the Heartland Conference of the NCAA Division II. Their sports teams are nicknamed the Falcons. The Falcons participate in sports such as basketball, cross country, soccer, softball, swimming, volleyball, and others.
