Study at Saint Michaels College


Saint Michael's College is located in Colchester, Vermont, United States. It was established in 1904 as Saint Michael's Institute. It enrolled 34 students in its first year. The college became coeducational in 1970. The college has two campuses in Colchester and encompasses an area of more than 400 acres. Saint Michael's offers a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The athletic teams of Saint Michael's College are nicknamed the Purple Knights. The colors of the college are purple and gold. They are Division II members of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The college competes in the Northeast Ten Conference. Students participate in a wide variety of sports including baseball, softball, cross country, lacrosse, basketball, volleyball, skiing, swimming and diving, golf, tennis, rugby, field hockey, soccer, and ice hockey. Some notable alumni of Saint Michael's College are Donald Cook, United States Marine Corp Colonel; Tom Freston, one of the founders of MTV; and Patrick Leahy, Senior U. S. Senator from Vermont.
