Study at Radford University


Radford University, or RU, is a public, state-funded university in Southwestern Virginia. It was established in 1910 as a women's college, but in 1972 it became coeducational. There are over 8, 000 undergraduates and more than 1, 000 postgraduates enrolled in this university which has a campus of over 177 acres. Radford University offers undergraduate degrees in liberal arts and a number of programs at the master degree level. These include the M. F. A. and M. B. A. degrees. Radford University's athletics teams are known as the Highlanders and the team colors are red and white. The University offers a number of varsity sports for men and women. Among these are tennis, rugby, baseball, cross-country, golf, soccer, track and field, field hockey, softball, swimming and diving, volleyball and basketball. The tennis, basketball and rugby teams have won a number of national championships.
