Founded in 1887, Gonzaga University is a top tier institute of higher learning located in Spokane, Washington. In 1986, the University established a Master of Arts Program in Organizational Leadership. Owing to the advances in distance learning technology, Gonzaga subsequently launched an online version of this program and followed up by adding three additional advanced online degree programs: a Master of Arts in Communication and Leadership Studies, and two Master of Science in Nursing programs. A typical full time graduate student, taking 6 credits (two courses) per semester can complete a program within 24 months. Ability to add additional credits in any given period will shorten this timeline. Gonzaga University AdmissionsThe application process begins by filling out an online graduate application. An admission application checklist, describing other steps in the process, will be provided to the applicant by a Program Manager. Gonzaga University Faculty QualityEvery online class is designed by Gonzaga faculty and instructors with doctoral degrees. Each class is taught by an instructor holding a Ph. D. in his/her field or a Masters degree with eminence in the profession. Students in the online Masters programs are mostly working adults who are highly motivated to move up the corporate ladder and enhance their career mobility and earnings. Recognizing that today's employers want strong leaders, Gonzaga's online Masters students are eager to gain the traits and skills that define leadership in their career fields. Approximately 75% of Gonzaga graduates already have careers waiting for them in their related fields. Gonzaga University Student LifeOnline courses at Gonzaga are offered on a unique eight-week class schedule, as opposed to the campus 15-week class schedule. A typical course has 20 students with the class split into two discussion groups of 10 each. All coursework can be completed entirely online with the following exceptions: For both the Masters-Organizational Leadership and Masters-Communication and Leadership Studies programs, students are required to come to campus for one three-day weekend as part of one of the program's course requirements. The session, which can be satisfied on the student's own chosen timetable, is offered at least once every term (5-6 times per year). The online Nursing programs each have residency requirements but they vary depending on the concentration being pursued.
