Study at South Puget Sound Community College

South Puget Sound Community College was founded in 1962 as the Olympia Vocational Technical Institute. It was renamed Olympia Technical Community College in 1976 and became a fully comprehensive community college in 1980. The college adopted its current name in 1984 and is also referred to as SPSCC. The college campus sits on 125 acres of land in Olympia, Washington. It offers a number of degrees and certificate programs in several fields of study. The college offers Enrolment to more than 6, 500 full-time and part-time students. SPSCC participates in a wide variety of sports like men's soccer, women's softball and men's and women's basketball. Its sports teams are nicknamed the Clippers. The college is a member of the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges. Some of the scholarships offered by SPSCC include the American Rhododendron Society Bruce Briggs Memorial Scholarship, Olympic Outfitters Scholarship in Accounting, Patrons of South Sound Cultural Activities Scholarship in the Arts and South Puget Sound Community College Bookstore Textbook Scholarship.
