Columbus, Ohio. Our location in the northern tip of West Virginia offers
students instant access to a full-range of resources, businesses, entertainment, cultural and social offerings. Our location near
Interstate 70 puts Cleveland, Ohio, and
Charlestonwithin a three-hour drive. Washington, D. C. , Baltimore, and Philadelphia within a five-hour drive, and it is only a

Wheeling Jesuit University is a co-ed, four-year, private university, offering more than 30 undergraduate programs and six graduate programs.
The University was founded in 1954 in partnership between the Diocese of
Wheeling-Charleston and the Maryland Province of the Society of Jesus.

Athletics
NCAA Division II, WVIA Conference. 18 varsity sports (Men's Varsity
teams, Baseball, Basketball, Cheerleading, Cross Country, Golf, Lacrosse, Soccer, Swimming, Track and Field. Nine Women's Varsity teams, Basketball, Cheerleading, Cross Country, Golf, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Track and Volleyball. The athletic teams have won more than 44
West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) titles.
Activity/Club/Organization Types
Extracurricular activities are essential to achieving a well-rounded
Jesuit education. Each year, numerous student organizations provide more
than 350 activities for students. Organizations include student
government, service organizations, sports clubs, special interest groups
and media organizations. In addition, Wheeling Jesuit offers more than
30 student-run clubs and activities. They range from clubs in most
subject areas to service activities, from social and civic activities to
student government, from environmental involvement to social justice and

Campus Ministry
Campus Ministry reaches out through bible study and faith sharing, retreats, spiritual and social programs, liturgical ministry and music, worship and reconciliation services, ecumenical and interfaith programs, and
active community service.
Great Facilities
The $10 million Acker Science Center provides students with facilities
that open doors to new and exciting research possibilities, doubling
space for biology and chemistry labs, adding a grant-funded modern
language lab, computer science labs and a teacher preparation
demonstration classroom. The state-of-the-art equipment and new labs
provide students with the means to undertake cutting-edge research
projects. Wheeling Jesuit ensures that students receive real-world
experiences, not just classroom instruction, giving students the
opportunity to take what they've learned in the classroom and expand
that knowledge in the area of research. More than 100 students report to
the community on their research at the annual Student Research and
Scholarship Symposium. Students often cite the research opportunities as
one of the reasons they enroll at Wheeling Jesuit University.
The campus is home to the Robert C. Byrd National Technology Transfer
Center, the Erma Ora Byrd Center for Educational Technologies, a
Challenger Learning Center and the Clifford M. Lewis Appalachian
Institute. NASA's Classroom of the Future in the Center for Educational
Technologies. Students have the opportunity to gain valuable experience
by serving as research assistants, writers, software testers and even
actors through employment and internships at various projects.

Wheeling Jesuit alumni work as CEOs of Fortune 500 companies, as
community leaders, as clergy, teachers, therapists, and theologians.
They serve soup to the homeless, and serve the country in Congress. They
