Founded in 1874, UW-RF is a coeducational, public university with strong programs in the arts and sciences; education; business and economic; and agriculture, food and environmental sciences. About 5, 800 students call River Falls home during the regular school year. The faculty-student ratio is 19:1, and the faculty is committed to undergraduate instruction. Professors teach all classes, labs, and discussions. There are no teaching assistants.
