Viterbo University is a Roman Catholic, liberal arts university located in La Crosse, United States. It was founded in 1890 as St. Rose Normal School by Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration. The college began offering classes from 1923. It was granted university status on September 4, 200, and was renamed Viterbo University. They participate in a wide variety of sports including baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, and soccer. The athletic teams are nicknamed the V-Hawks.
